Who to sell to by the ton? 8 Months, 1 Week ago
I realize that most ginseng is sold locally, at the local market price, which is typically for small amounts. Does anyone have any insight as to how one could bypass the local market if one had tons to sell?

IF you have tons... just notifie International Dealers, they will come to your house and inspect a barrel or two then give you a price for it all. Check out the legalities of this for your area.

Hmmmm, lets do the math here. 1 lb = 100 roots(roughly). 100x2000lbs= 200,000 roots!!!

Does a ton of ginseng weigh more than a ton of feathers?

I guess if you planted 100 pounds of seed and got about a third of them to survive it could be done. That would be a lot of work digging and cleaning and drying!

Yeah, but at only $300 a pound you would make $600,000. you would have to pay people to dig with you. That's 6,000 pounds wet to get a dry ton. so, if you dug for 60 days you would have to dig 100 pounds a day. that means that by yourself you would have to dig 12.5 pounds an hour for 8 hours a day for 60 days. it would take at least 10 people to do the job. i hope i have this problem some day.
