Yep... you got it right that second try.

Now get 200-300 of those and you will probably have a dry pound.

Around 3.5 lbs green will dry out to a pound dry.

That is unless you really do start finding ginseng roots too big to fit in your sink :-)

A couple of them had stems growing from two different spots. All but the smaller one on the bottom left were four pron. I ran out of light but they are mixed with the Sarsaparilla I mistakenly dug. There was a 200 yard wide patch that goes from the ridge to the bottom of the valley. Plenty of four pron to dig for the rest of the season. These were approx. halfway down the hill so I am assuming the ones near the top will be older. Gps said 1500 yard from the top to the bottom so I will be very selective and not get greedy. Great exercise if nothing else.
