Me and my dad had a pretty good day hunting . To start off while we was diving into where we planned on hunting dad saw a bull elk that was a 3 by 3 or a 4 by 4 . I didnt get to see that one it was gone too quick , but as i was walking out to get the truck for us I had a spike stand up about 50feet from me . It was the first time either of us had saw one . We also had a pretty good dig . I found some of the biggest roots ive ever found . Dad found about the same as i did .

Tops look like mountain tops to me. Longer more pointy leaf tips.

Ours look a little different over here in Middle TN.

Thanks Tnhunter.... Good eye ,you are right it is mountain sang . So far this season i have been hunting up in the mountains around old mines and strip jobs .

Me and my dad got out for about 4 hours today and found around 70 roots . I'd say about a 1/4 of them was yellow with some of them already wilting and laying on the ground . Not to much left to season here in north east Tn . Hopefully we can squeeze in a couple more trips .
