i was wondering if anyone knows why root sizes can vary so much?, for example ive dug a few roots from four prongers that were substantially smaller than most three prongers i find, my biggest roots are from three prongers.
Soil and weather have a lot to do with it. I have found 2 prongers nearly knee high that had big roots. I have seen it come up as a 4 prong one year and a 2 the next. Some years when its bad dry weather it will be shorter and often have a yellow edge to the leaves.
Tooler,,,I went out before the Vikes game and found a small 3 pronger at one of our spots,,,the root was growing in a real sandy spot, and turned out to be a very nice root. Soil seems to make a big difference at times? Did you get out today? Go Vikes and Matt Kenseth!!
