thanks trapper, they are slick indeed. I've had a couple falls not to bad, yellow jacket stings, and cut my hand on broken glass that was buried, and almost unbearable heat for all of September. It seems like the woods and weather threw everything at me but the kitchen sink this year, lol. Found some beautiful seng this year though, and felt like I earned every one. Finally enjoying a couple days of cool weather sengin. I hope to go Wednesday it's suppose to be nice. I've really enjoyed checking out yall's pics this season as well, great stuff!
It was 43 degrees on the mountain this morning. I about froze to death riding to my spot. It turned out to be a beautiful day cool and sunny. I managed 10oz's today. I'd say 75 percent of everything I found was still green just unbelievable this late in October. I was gonna wrap up the season today, but I might have to go one more time Saturday. The leaves around here are just now starting to show a little color. Anytime you can hunt seng around here through October is a bonus! Suppose to get down in the 30's Sunday into Monday so that may change things in a hurry.
Chief, I suspected with September being as hot and humid as it was that the seng would hold on a little longer. October has been pretty mild till just recently. I found some yesterday that were as green as opening day. Of course there was a fair share that were kinda barely hanging on. They're calling for a possible frost in the mountains this Sunday that will kick it into high gear for sure.
