I have heard of keeping in the freezer if you are going to keep it from one year to the next. I have never tried that, so I don't know how well it works.

I can tell you I've seen some ginseng that has been kept a year in nothing other than a paper bag in the closet or somesuch and it was obvious it was OLD.

Silica packets that come in medicine bottles or packs of beef jerky will help keep the moisture out of it. If you have alot of ginseng you can make your own by picking up some \"water saving crystals\" in the garden section at Walmart, it's the same stuff.

Jack,

I wouldn't suggest freezing them short term. Instead, just keep them in a cardboard box or paper bag in a cool dry spot.

always try to keep as much air to it as possible and away from any moisture a big box or large paper bag works best.
If you see your going to keep it long term put it in a paper sack and roll the top down and put it in the freezer.
thats the way i do it ..... to each his own
