TOPIC: markets for other plants

Re:markets for other plants 13 years 10 months ago #3567

You are allowed to dig yellowroot at any time in ohio. There is not a season as there is for ginseng. I suggest that if you are going to dig it, do so wisely and only harvest the bigger more mature plants. I'd also suggest that you wait until about mid june when the berries have already ripened. You can dig the same patch for years if you harvest wisely and don't decimate the patch.

Any market for bloodroot? There's a bunch growing wild on my farm.

There is, but it's only bringing about $5/pound dried. and those roots really shrivel up to nothing when they dry. Not really worth it if you ask me.
