Thanks for the nice comments guys...
I guess all of those pics were from naturally occurring patches of ginseng with the exception of the one picture of the 4 plants that came from Latt..

Hugh remind me in about six weeks and I will check up on them. My suspicion is that the leaf loss may have occurred a little too early in this case. The berries that have set are still very small. But perhaps...

This weekend I am hitting a new spot I have permission to dig. I have high hopes for some older root. Some guys that I know dug it down low years ago, but they are not exactly a ball of fire. It has some root down low but also some real steep mountains above that I think should hold some old ones, and it's all maple! I'm sure they never went up there.

Sounds awesome Maya... I've not had a lot of free time to get out much lately, but I always enjoy exploring new areas like that. Wish u a safe and fun filled trip. :)
