Here are some Hens I found the other day. The big on is over 50 lbs. I had to carry it 1/4 mile and it wore this ole man out.
Found these on the way to my good spots. Found so many on the way to my good spots I never made it to my good spots. These Hens are still edible but would have been much fresher if I would have found them a week ago.
bellco ky, Hi, it is all a matter of taste but for the amount of mushroom you get, the stoarge for years dehydrated or flash frozen then placed in ziplocks, hen of the woods wins all awards hands down. If you look at any of the wiki sites or references you will see grifola frondosa is considered a top medicinal as well. I am a walking testament, besides sugar regulation and insulin it also helps cholesterol control. I was on statins for a year, quit and after 2 months a few years back and after a steady diet of hens, my LDL and HDL were in the words of my doc like a 25 year old on a good diet. Also stuies suggest cancer fighting properties. A win win!
