TOPIC: Wild Plant Pics 4/25/12

Wild Plant Pics 4/25/12 11 years 11 months ago #17374

These are a couple wild plants growing in a woods I was mushroom hunting in.
The leaves have recently unfolded and are still a bit wrinkled as you can see in the pics. This woods is a woods that I have been watching wild seng grow in for some time now. I have transplanted many from this woods over the years. There is only a few spots in the woods with the seng. I have planted some 5 lbs of seed in this woods too.

This was later in the evening and the sun was shooting low through the woods on the seng. Normally it is fairly shady throughout the day.

Here is one more pic I took the other night of the many plants in this woods. At one time there were over 300 plants in a couple areas of this 20 acre woods. I have moved and transplanted many over the years. One year I transplanted 30 into a spot and they all died. It made me sick so I have left the remaining 100 alone now and just enjoy seeing them now and then when I visit this woods. The oldest root was 47 years old and I have posted a pic of it on this forum back last year. The plants are all 4 prong nice healthy plants. Some were 30 inches tall or more. But I moved the big ones and used a couple for personal use. These are still some nice 4 prongs that I left to grow thou

Love to see those big wild four prongs Latt.

I know this sounds crazy but, I found a little wild patch in my newly planted area. How they survived the two sprayings last year, I haven't a clue. I always check an area really good before I clear it out but I missed em. It had one big four prong and one little four as well, a couple two prongs and three big singles. I was walking through looking for new seedlings and *BAM* :woohoo: there they were. Took me a second to register they were wild and I hadn't planted em. Man O man, I wished all seed popped up like that lol

Not that tall yet. Only about 10 to 12 inches.
