Most of my 3 year old plants are producing seed and are three prongs. But I do have a mix of some two prongs, single 5 leaf, and 3 leaf. Kind of all over the board. I have also had mixed germination results... again kind of all over the place and more keep coming up every year. I did not refridgerate the seed

I think you are doing good by planting both wild sim and woods cultivated. You plants look nice. Your soil looks really rich and they seem to be enjoying it. I noticed your wild sim roots have a lot of root hairs. Here in Ohio that is not as common on wild sim or wild roots as down south in my opinion. I hear folks in KY, TN and NC speak of root hairs or water roots coming off the main root. Ohio roots do have some now and then but nothing compared to the pics I see from southern root. It is interesting to me to see the difference. I see you are from Iowa. My girlfriend told me about how great the soil is out there. Sure looks nice!
Congrats on your plantings.
