TOPIC: Planting finally done!!!!!!

Re:Planting finally done!!!!!! 10 years 1 week ago #33498

lol I bet it was. I once had a guy who in spite of my cautions bought 100 lbs of seed from me. He called me the following March and asked if he took a bulldozer and pushed the snow off the ground in the woods and planted, if I thought the ginseng would be ok.

Good Grief... I can't imagine planting that much. 3 lbs was the most I ever planted in a season and that about wore me out :-)

Working full time and planting on Saturdays that is about all I can get in.

That is an impressive amount of seed and work. Hope it turns out good for you.

It really takes about 3 years to see if they are going to do well.

I got in some black seed off some woods grown mixed with wild root (from Missouri) this week, going to plant a little myself today.

Best of Luck !

No I didn't take any pictures. Whitjr

Tn - my brother and my brother in law helped me. So we knocked it out preetty quick considering how much seed. I took a week's vacation and my brother in law is laid off and my brother helped when he could. Cost me about $1,000 dollars Labor which was another expense I wasn't expecting LOL. But I wouldn't have got done. 40 beds is about the best 1 guy could do a day in our scenirio.
Also I got some seed from Missouri and it was really dark brown compared to what I bought from Billy Taylor. Billy's was really light colored.
Thanks
