TOPIC: Got a little planted today

Re:Got a little planted today 9 years 5 months ago #33531

Hugh, I agree and most folks say the less you disturb the ground the better. However, I am going to grow woods cultivated in my next big planting next fall. So I am looking to plant an excessive amount of lbs per acre. We shall see what happens disease wise. I am going to amend the soil with leaf litter mulch/compost and gypsum to bring up the organic content and calcium.

Latt,
We were on my place, clearing this years area to plant...if you like your property now, you'll love it later. It looks like a park setting once you clear a large are of brush and undergrowth. That alone would make a property worth way more. I was looking yesterday, in one spot at the base of my slope about 120-150 feet wide by 600-700 feet long that is clean from the ground on up to 12-15 ft. It sure makes a place pretty. I'm not use to seeing that far in the woods...its ALOT of work but its worth it
