TOPIC: Ground temp for ginseng germination

Is there a specific ground temp when ginseng starts to come up? I know morels start to pop when ground temps reach between 52-55 around here which is finally happening

Anyway I was just curious as im still waiting to see my first ginseng sprout, thought I would have some up by now.

Not sure usually when dandelion start to seed ..turn white,or a week after my red maples leaf out here they come every year which have been 55-70 deg around here. My plants in middle Kentucky came up Sunday little ones first and now the 3 and 4 prong are popping up.
My plants in Virginia I was told started today
I hear some folks in Tennessee were up last week.
Morels popped up here last Thursday.

Some of your Q's -many of them- can be answered in the Dr. Scott Person's book. It's sort of the grower's bible for many of us here. I'd look on Amazon.com for it, and it's likely you can find a good used on for less than the top retail.

Oh, you have some plants in VA? Nice! So, you think it's a little early to start scouting?

Never to early you can always pick some morels while looking, I would give them till next weekend in kentucky and virginia they should be tall enough to see

Yep, that's what I was thinkin'. Also, not sure what those things you said are. I'll have to check'em out.
