TOPIC: New grower

Re:New grower 8 years 5 months ago #37550

A few years back I had a good healthy bed of 4 year old ginseng, probably around 1000 plants. Looked good in late September when it went down for the year. Next spring there was maybe 20 left due to the moles/voles. That is the kind of disappointment you are likely to experience when growing ginseng. Good luck.

I hear you on the moles and voles lenno,
Contrary to what some people believe, moles will actually eat ginseng roots even though their main diet is worms. Their tunnels also opens up freeways for the voles.

hahaha..... Man Brad, that is funny! Seriously, I would love to see your farm. Talking with someone that has been doing this for awhile and knows what they're doing would be great. I bought 1lb from you this year. Thought I'd give them a try. Usually by from Wild Grown or Harding's.

I don't let folks visit for obvious reasons. As for seed, I cannot comment on that because of site rules. However, I can wish you the best of luck ;)
