Hollerhopper32

Your chances of them coming up next spring are good if: 1) the roots were in good shape to begin with. Like the bud for next years growth did not have any damage. and 2) you plant them so the bud is about an inch below the surface of the soil. 3) If your area gets alot of snow, cover with about 3-4 inches of mulch(leaves).

If yor soil is right for them, they will continue to grow and be healthy.

Good Luck!

Hollerhopper,

Last year at the end of the season I brought home 10 little two prong roots and planted them here close to my house.

9 of them came up and some were small 3 prongs this spring.

I figured that the 1 that did not come up - maby I damaged the bud spur a little while digging it or planting it. Perhaps it developed a new bud spur this year and will come up next spring.

Best of luck with your start on growing some seng.
