TOPIC: How do you mark your ginseng beds & ID year planted ?

I have also thought about going the gps route Jacquo. I nearly bought one the other day but decided against it. I also thought it would come in handy in scouting for new patches and then come back when season opened. I guess I'm still hangin on to my ol fashioned ways.

I was like you until this year. I drug my feet on getting a GPS, and now after having purchased one, I'll never go into the woods without it. The reason I bought it was because I got access to some property that I have never been able to hunt before. This patch of woods was huuuge, we're talking 100's if not into the 1000's of acres. I didn't want to worry about not finding my way back to the truck. My little GPS did the trick. I was also able to do like you suggested and mark spots I wanted to visit in the future. Marking the patches I planted was just another thing I tried doing with the unit.
