All of the roots we dig are wild:meaning we just happen upon them in the woods. We usually just dry them and sell them bulk no matter what the age or size. we only dig half a lb or so (more this yr) usually. Should we seperate them by size and age? And how do i approach my buyer now?
Aye, down here in WV, alot of the ginseng is getting eaten by deer and such. A couple days ago, I found four 3 prongs that only had leaves on one of the prongs (odd thing is tho, on the one prong not eaten, all five leaves were full and healthy)
.....and only a select few I have stumbled across are turning yellow (maybe since I'm further south in warmer climates?)
