Boy did it feel good to get out this morning opening day. It was warm but manageable, actually had a little breeze, and in the shade as well. I still went through 4 bottles of water though, lol. Went to a spot right off the road I've hunted for several seasons, and still managed to harvest 36 roots, and saw a lot of young patches of seng. Everything is nice and green so I think it will be a good season. I saw and planted quite a few red berries today, and some were still green as well. Sure felt good to get some dirt under the fingernails and sweat a little. Be safe and dig a bunch this season fellas!
Got out this afternoon to a new patch of woods, or should I say a very long steep ridge, lol. I lasted about 2 hours and I was soaked and spent. I found some nice ginseng in there. It has definitely been hunted before by someone, but I will be back in there for sure. Come on cooler weather I'm ready to put in some full days, lol.
