Chieftan,

Nice mess of crappie and see a few blue-gill in there too.

It is hard to beat crappie for eatin - some good stuff.

I really like the small mouth bass I catch out of the local creeks here - a really good fight on light tackle and some great eating too.

When I was a kid it seems like about all we ate was fish, deer, squirrel, quail, dove and the likes. I loved it all and still do.

Thanks for sharing.

Chief, congrats on the good fishin. Those will sure make a tasty meal. I love to fish, but rarely make time for it in the fall. With seng season and deer season and a couple of trips squirrel hunting plus work and my daughters volleyball games, I just hardly ever fit it in. I did float down a local river in mid august and did pretty good on some smallmouth. Didn't keep any it was just a fun trip. no way I'm turning a mess of crappie loose though.
