Thanks Hobler for the info. I was going to order a soil testing kit from the local County Extension office to test the PH,Phosphorus and calcium levels. Do you think that will be necessary? The picture above shows a little of what is growing out there. We are in the North East.

I didn't do it do to I had wild shang growing on my land n lots of companion plants growing already with a nice deep dark soil . it won't hurt to do so though.
