TOPIC: Indoor 2 year old ginseng sprouting

Yes, in about a month.

Here is a pic I just took of the 2 year old ginseng plants that I have growing indoors. I am surprised that they are still doing well and appear healthy. I will transplant these into one of my ginseng beds in late April.
I always use my cell phone to take plant pics and it used to work fine. I think the plastic over the camera lens is getting scratched and the pics are not that great anymore.

Their looking pretty good. I like how seng roots all the same age can produce such a variety of tops. Big three leaf, small three leaf and two prong with five and three leaf.

It sure must have been fun watching those plants grow while all the rest planted in the woods are dormant or not up yet.

I enjoy seeing your indoor seng.

Your 2 year old plants, do you mean that they are entering their 3rd year of growth season or 2nd year?

They were planted in October 2009 so this is their 2nd growing season.

I was telling the wife about your indoors ginseng and how it's growing and then told her about how you think that you may have over watered them. Her reply was \"ice cubes\". She had cactus plants and she just put two ice cubes at the base of the plant and it was just the right amount of water and melted slowly saturating the soil. I guess that would work for sang too.

Thanks for the tip. I may try that. I think I may have it down now. I water heavily only once in a while now to simulate a down poor as it often does in the spring outdoors. Then I let the soil dry out for a week in between watering. I do not wait until the soil is bone dry thou.
Looking forward to getting these transplanted outside soon.

Those current photos are some good looking plants. do you have any worries about transplanting them at this stage?
