Nyhunter 101 welcome to the forum. To answer your questions. September 1st is the opening of Ginseng season in West Virginia. There are no permits required. You do have to have permission from the landowner to dig. There is no digging on state owned land. You must have the ginseng certified before you take it across state lines. Hope that is all the information you need. Whereabouts in WV are you planning on digging?
