TOPIC: harvest time

well I had to do it my plants were getting to big and was worried they would be found . Been growing ginseng for about 18 years now . almost all the plants were 4 prongs . and man were theses roots big I think out of all the ones I dug only a few were small . here is a few pictures out of what I dug got a little over 12 pounds green root any one give me a ideal of what weight it will be at dried thanks

Good looking roots, they should dry around 3 or 3.5 to 1.

Anywhere from 3:1 to over 4:1

Don't rush them. I'd put them in an open cardboard box and set them in the refrigerator for a few weeks before drying. They generally will come out more corkey and therefore more valuable.
