Just thought I would share a picture of a nice root my dad dug this year. Its dried in the picture, it weighs 1oz exactly. These are pretty scarce here in middle Tn.
Here is my 47 year old root I found. It is a strange looking root with many twist on the neck. The fatter part of the big portion of the root had part of it bitten or chewed on by an animal. None the less is was pretty cool and fairly large. I hope I post the pic correctly.
Thanks,
Latt
Nice little patch of wild ginseng. All 30 or so plants were clustered around each other. There were only an additional 10 other isolated plants in the entire 2 acre woods which was strange. All were nice diggers and I left them all there as I was hunting summer mushrooms not ginseng hunting. They are still there too.
Thanks,
Latt
