TOPIC: differences in seeds?

Re:differences in seeds? 13 years 1 week ago #9680

I do not have specific information as to the case study but here is the quote, so if anyone is interested here you go and you can decide on your own.

\"There are many reasons why seed will or will not grow, many are covered in the ?Why woodland ginseng plantings fail? power point. Ginseng that is eaten by people as roots will always be judged on appearance and taste and afterwards, perceived efficacy. Saponins (which includes all known ginsenocides) vary so much from plant to plant that it is impossible to determine what they are from any given lot. Research at Cornell found that there was no significant difference in ginsenocide content from 4 year old field grown root, versus 25 year old presumed wild NC root, versus forest cultivated 8 year old root.\"

Well, given that, if we could manage to grow these plants for 3 years and replicate the dinstinctive shape of \"emperor root\" we'd all be very happy!

I am not sure I follow.

Anyway, I found out the info I posted about the research at Cornell University was conducted by Wansang Lim as part of his PhD theses at Cornell University.

So do with it what you may.
